Following tireless campaigning by RLS UK we are delighted to announce new NICE clinical advice highlighting the risks of Dopamine Agonists and an agreement by the Royal College of GPs to include RLS teaching in the GP curriculum from August 2025.
In an article published this morning by the BBC the new developments were announced.
Trustee Emma Sanderson-Nash commented “We are delighted with this new development where the risks of dopamine agonists are at last recognised and they are to be removed from first line treatment. We also welcome the decision to teach RLS to all GPs which will make a huge difference to sufferers of this debilitating disease. These developments in response to our campaign aims are very good news but our work continues. We will keep pressure on politicians and health professionals to deliver, research and work with us to improve the lives of all people with RLS”.
