Dr. Julian Spinks
Chair
Julian is a semi-retired GP and a founding director of a GP Federation.
He has suffered from intermittent RLS for 30 years.
He brings personal experience of RLS together with medical knowledge. He also has experience of guideline writing for NICE, NHS administration and medical politics. He has worked in the media for over 20 years, appearing on radio and TV

Debbie Abrams, OBE
Membership and Finance
Debbie retired from her career mainly in the NHS and more recently working for a local hospice and work with the charity to help and support people with RLS and PLMD. As membership secretary Debbie enjoys communicating with people who experience RLS as well as their families.
Debbie has had RLS for about 30 years and is keen to help others with RLS.
She has made a short video about RLS to help raise awareness. Debbie has also completed a 500-mile hike to raise both awareness of and funds for RLS-UK. ​
Julie Gould
Trustee
Julie is a retired corporate lawyer who has Multiple Sclerosis and severe Restless Legs Syndrome.
Her main interest is raising awareness of the seriousness of RLS, the increasing rates of augmentation on dopamine agonists and the lack of training and knowledge about RLS amongst doctors and neurologists.
She has led campaigns to include RLS in the teaching curriculum at medical schools and during GP training in the UK and she has had articles on RLS published.​
Elna Harris
Trustee
Elna is retired having worked as a PA in the Education Sector and later in the Car Industry.
After a break of a good few years, she worked as an administration assistant in HR of an IT company and subsequently the Hotel Industry.
Long term mild RLS sufferer.
She has been a trustee since 2014 and currently assists with some of the social media platforms.

Jonathan Wickens

Jonathan is a retired IT professional
He is active hill walker and cyclist whose Restless Legs started to become problematic soon after retirement.
Jonathan found the Health Unlocked Forum and RLS-UK website very useful and felt that being a Trustee was an opportunity to give back and support the organisation and its work.

Emma Sanderson-Nash Phd
Trustee
Academic and political scientist.
​
Personal interest in RLS as long term sufferer, including experience with Dopamine Agonists, Tramadol/oxycodone, augmentation and iron infusion.
​
Emma has been working with RLS since 2022 as a volunteer, pro-bono lobbying to help raise awareness of the disease among Parliamentarians, in particular working with MPs and Peers to require government to collect better data, to update NICE guidelines including treatment plans and to improve GP training.
Barrie Limond

Long term RLS sufferer (>40 years), having personal experience of Temazepam, Gabapentin, Ropinirole, Rotigotine Patch (then augmentation) and currently Clonazepam

With 30+ years working for an International Energy Company in roles including Global Audit & Governance Manger, Barrie has a passion for risk & corporate governance, and supporting companies and Charities to improve this area
Joeli Brearley
Trustee
Joeli Brearley is the founder of Pregnant Then Screwed, a charity which has changed laws, supported hundreds of thousands of parents with free advice and is re-writing the narrative for working mothers in the UK.
She has suffered with RLS since age 9 and suffered augmentation on Ropinirole in 2023

She is an author, speaker and campaigner, and has been twice been listed in Women in Westminster: the 100.
